An ancestry represents the inherited or common traits of a group of creatures. Separate from this there's also an ancestry's culture. Being part of an ancestry's culture does not make a creature of that ancestry, but they may share in that culture's traditions.
Example
The common language in time raider culture is Voll. If a creature grew up as part of time raider culture, they'll most likely speak Voll. If a time raider grew up outside time raider culture, that time raider may not speak any Voll.
