Time raiders were an ancestry originally created by the synlirii. Time raiders refered to themselves as kuran'zoi (coor-AN-zoy).[1]

Physiology

Time raiders had a humanoid form, but with four arms. Instead of eyes they had a crystaline ocular sensor, granting them protection against the harsh radiation of the Astral Sea.

The synlirii created the time raiders with inherent psionic abilities.[2]

Psychology

Time raiders, after their liberation from the synlirri, were known to be fiercely independent and reject the notion of servitude to others.[1]

History

Origin

The synlirii created the time raiders as soldiers, intended to be under the synlirii's full control. The breeding to improve the psionic abilities led to the time raiders realizing the tyranny of their masters.[2]

The kuran'zoi rebelled against the synlirii during the First Psychic War, liberating themselves. After the war they settled as nomads of the Sea of Stars. [2]

Time raider culture

After liberating themselves they settled as nomads on the Astral Sea, often employed themselves as pirates and raiders on the Astral Sea, while others make their living as guides for travelers form other planes. [2] [3]

They gained the moniker "time raider" due to their assault on worlds who relied on sorcery instead of technology and were mistaken from raiders from the future. [3]

It was custom between kuran'zoi pirates to leave a few of their targets alive and able to return home. [3]

Leave the sheep alive. Next year, they'll return with a new coat of wool for us to shear

Due to being mostly unaging as kuran'zoi lived most of their life in the Sea of Stars, they took knowledge gain from millennia of conflicts with every new battle and even realms beyond war. For example, kuran'zoi children are raised in ruined citadels on obscure worlds, kept secret and protected. [3]
