Hakaan
The hakaan were a people descendant from stone giants. Their ancestors were tricked by Holkatya, the Vanir trickster goddess, into trading some of their great strength and size for the ability to see the future, their Doomsight. [1]
Physiology
The hakaan were big humanoids, although not as big as giants, with rigid grey skin.
Psychology
Although the hakaan were descendant from the stone giants they did not consider themselves stone giants. Nor did they worship or resent Holkatya, respecting her instead. [1]
The hakaan were a serene and peaceful people who did not seek primarily glory. [2]
Doomsight
The doomsight was a vision or wyrd (the Vanir term) that some hakaan had, a vision of their death. These visions were never mundane, and when they came, it was considered an act of extreme hubris to ignore it. Many hakaan who experience the Doomsight leave their communities to venture out, in search of their destiny. [2] [3]

Cultural groups
The dominant language in hakaan tribes was Vhoric, an offshot of the Stone giant dialect of High Kuric. [4]
Vasloria
In Vasloria the hakaan were known as Barrow Men. [2]
Vanigar
The tribe of Hak'an were originally descendant from upper Vanigar. [3]
