Manifolds, also called "worlds", "planes", or "universes".

Each world in the Timescape could be separated into two categories, higher and lower. [1]

The space in between the manifolds is known as the Sea of Stars or the Astral Sea.

Higher worlds

These were more energetic worlds, being able to access more peculiar technology. Here great star freighters flew the space lanes, with knights wielding psionically powered hard-light blades dueling space pirates with hard-light blasters. [1]

Higher worlds
Manifold
Axiom [1] The Plane of Uttermost Law
Proteus [1] The Sea of Eternal Change
Quintessence [1] The lowest of the upper worlds

Lower worlds

Due to being less energetic and thus not having to access to extraordinary technology, denizens of lower worlds relied on magic to break the rules. [1]

Lower worlds
Manifold
Orden [1] The Prime Manifold
World Below [1] The Dark Under All
Equinox [1] Dusk
Seven Cities of Hell [1] The last plane of law
Abyssal Waste [1] The lowest plane
