Khorak
Khorak, Jarl of Drengrheim, the Far Seeing, was a Stone Giant who led the giantfolk against the encroaching humans of the Nine Clans of Vanigar. He was given the gift of deadsight from Olkhar, the Vanir God of Trickery, at the cost of an eye. After pushing back the human incursion, he turned against the other giants, uniting them against him. After his defeat, he served on the Court of Decay in the Abyssal Waste.[1]
History
Rise of the Nine Clans
Khorak was a stone giant living in Vanigar when the Nine Clans of Vanigar began to rise as the Vanirmen spread. He saw these humans moving into the lands of the giants and warned the other giant tribes that the humans would spread, multiply, and eventually drive the giants to extinction. Many ignored him, but some of his fellow tribesmen heeded his warning and joined him in his attempts to slow or stop the spread of the Vanirmen. Their forces were not enough, and the giants were repelled by the encroaching humans. Khorak retreated with his remaining followers deep into the arctic wastes of Vanigar.[1]
Olkhar's Blessing
Deep within the frozen desert, Khorak sought power to repel the humans. He made a bargain with Olkhar, the Vanir God of Trickery - Olkhar blessed Khorak and his followers with the prophetic gift of deadsight, but took an eye from each giant. Armed with the power they needed to fight against the Vanirmen, the cyclopean horde emerged from the wastes of Vanigar and took to battle with the Nine Clans.
Khorak and his followers began to win many battles against men and began to sway more giants to his growing legion. With their deadsight, they pushed back the Vanirmen who had conquered the land of the giants. Khorak personally slew each of the chieftains of the Nine Clans, cementing the empire of giants. [1]
Drengrheim, the Empire of Giants
He called his new empire Drengrheim, and his people called him Khorak the Far Seeing. After defeating the armies of men, he found that his hunger remain unsated. His blessing of deadsight fed him visions of endless lands and treasures that were his to claim. With the armies of man defeated, he turned against the other giants in an attempt to control their resources and take their treasures.
The disparate tribes of giants all fully united against a common enemy for the first time in their history - Khorak. Jarl Manghild, a fire giant princess Khorak orphaned and left for dead in her youth, flew her banner as she led the united giants against him. Khorak died in battle against the jarls of the combined tribes of giants, the only time in their history, before or since, that all giants had allied together against a common enemy. [1]
After his defeat, Khorak served on the Court of Decay in the Abyssal Waste.
